An Agency Blog for New Business

photo By Alejandro Escamilla for Agency Blog article blogger typing macbookIt was great to see an Agency Blog Award as a category in the inaugural UK Agency Awards.

Most (not all ) agencies have an active (emphasis on active) blog but I was talking to someone last week who categorically felt they didn’t need a blog and thought they wouldn’t have the time for managing one. Yikes.

There are loads of ‘should we?’ / ‘shouldn’t-we?’ discussions in LinkedIn groups, forums etc but the short answer is: yep – if you’re an agency and you want new business (amongst other reasons) – have an agency blog (old post but hopefully all links still active). Need convincing still? (I know that’ll be a minority of people) read these: the excellent Fuel Lines New Business website and reasons why Agencies should blog.

And congrats to Topline Communications, who won the best agency blogging category in the UK Agency Awards. Looking at their blog you can see it’s updated frequently (unlike mine, memo to me..) and contains the kind of content that B2B marketers would be looking for. Actually they have two blogs, the other being more B2B PR focused and I’m guessing they work synergistically to attract traffic to the ‘mothership’.
